FreelanceStation 2.0: About the Future of This Mac Time Tracker

FreelanceStation is a Mac time tracker. It was created to be only available for Macs and there was no question about it. But the introduction of macOS Big Sur was a huge indicator that all Apple platforms are going to be integrated and unified. All apps available in iOS for iPhone or iPad would eventually be made available for Mac, and ideally many Mac apps would also be available under iOS, where it makes sense.

PopDo 1.4.2 Released

PopDo 1.4.2 is now available on the Mac App Store for update. This patch improves general usability by allowing lists to be reordered by drag & dropping them above or below other lists and automatically selecting a task when the title or notes fields gain focus. Quick Task now supports flagging by appending !! to the task entry. There are a couple minor UI issues fixed too. All the details are available in the release notes.

SwiftUI Suitability for MacOS App Development

Update: this article is now old. SwiftUI should be considered for new Mac apps, at least for most of the UI. This new application I’m working on, which shall go unnamed and uncategorised for the moment, is going to be complex, with a complex UI including many views with sidebars, tables, image views and 3d views.
